The most valuable car collection in the Czech Republic belongs to the Matera and Strnad family
"Business is not only about profit, but also about building tradition," René Matera, the founder of our PROMET GROUP, often says to his children and successors in the company's management. Thanks to this conviction, today he is co-owner of the most valuable car collection in the Czech Republic!
It consists of 85 trucks and 61 vintage cars! Together with Jaroslav Strnad (Czechoslovak Group), they gradually built it up after the purchase of TATRA TRUCKS a.s. in 2013. Both shareholders agreed on one thing at the time. In addition to restarting the company, they wanted to highlight its historical legacy. Therefore they invested time and money in a collection of Tatra vintage cars.
They focused mainly on trucks. For them, they also had a new Tatra Truck Museum built in Kopřivnice in cooperation with the Moravian-Silesian Region. It was opened in 2021 and the biggest pride of the collection - the restored Slovak Strela, a national technical monument - is standing right in front of it. Read more in the article of the E15.
