Tawesco manufactures chassis for LINDE forklifts for the whole of Europe
Up to 6,000 frames for LINDE electric forklifts can be produced annually at Tawesco in Kopřivnice. One of the most technically demanding orders in recent years required extensive technological preparations, a new robotic welding station, and company-wide collaboration.
Tawesco, based in Kopřivnice, is expanding its operations in the material handling equipment sector. The company manufactures chassis for LINDE electric forklifts for KION in Stříbro, which are then shipped to manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers across Europe.
The contract ranks among the most technologically demanding projects the company has undertaken in recent years. Today, Tawesco manufactures up to 42 different chassis variants, with annual production reaching up to 6,000 units.
Each chassis consists of 13 to 14 deep-drawn steel sheet stampings, with a thickness of 5 to 6 millimeters. After welding, painting, and subsequent assembly, the individual parts must fit together precisely and meet the customer’s demanding quality requirements.
Project preparation took several years. It included investments in new robotic welding stations as well as extensive technological preparations. Teams from the design, tooling, stamping, welding, and painting departments were involved in the implementation.
The order also confirms the growing importance of the agricultural, forestry, and material handling equipment segment in the company’s portfolio. These sectors currently account for approximately 40 percent of Tawesco’s revenue.
The resulting LINDE electric forklifts, in their distinctive red color, are in operation at manufacturing facilities across Europe. But their journey begins right here in Kopřivnice.
We are pleased that such technically demanding projects with a European reach are being developed right here at Tawesco.
