Tawesco delivered over 11 million body parts to Škoda Auto last year

Kopřivnice, March 31, 2026 – Tawesco, a member of the Promet Group, delivered 11.1 million pressed and welded body parts to the carmaker Škoda Auto last year. Components from the Kopřivnice-based Tawesco and its plants in Úvaly and Pečky are currently heading to all of the brand's models—from the Fabia and Octavia to the electric Enyaq vehicles or the new Elroq, which recently won the Car of the Year 2026 title. As well as to some other brands of the Volkswagen Group.

The carmaker Škoda Auto produced 1.065 million vehicles worldwide in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 15 percent. It also strengthened its position as the third best-selling car brand in Europe. Meanwhile, 976,600 cars were manufactured in Czech and Slovak plants last year. An extensive network of Czech suppliers, among which Tawesco and its subsidiaries rank as stable partners, also contributes to this result.

"Škoda Auto is a significant customer for us, and we highly value this long-term prestigious partnership. In addition to stampings and welded assemblies, we produce complete pressing tools for them, for example, for side panel production. We also participate in the production of pressing tools for hoods or fenders. We thus have a share in the entire process of creating body parts," says Margita Rejchrtová, CEO of the Tawesco Group.

The cooperation between the Kopřivnice enterprise and the carmaker Škoda Auto has lasted for more than thirty years. Over that time, Tawesco has developed into a stable strategic supplier of body parts across the brand's model lines—from traditional passenger cars to modern SUVs and electric vehicles.

Parts from Tawesco can be found in all Škoda models

Pressed and welded parts produced by the plants belonging to the Tawesco Group can be found in all types of vehicles manufactured in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. They are thus in the Fabia, Scala, Octavia, Superb, Kodiaq, Karoq, Enyaq, Enyaq Coupé, and Elroq models, and will also be in the upcoming seven-seater Peaq model. Each of these cars contains from one to twenty body parts.

Tawesco among the suppliers of the 2026 Car of the Year

Tawesco is also involved in the production of the new electric SUV, the Škoda Elroq. For this model, it supplies, for example, the rear panel and pillar, window frames, or roof reinforcements. It is the Škoda Elroq that won the Car of the Year 2026 title in the Czech Republic this year. Tawesco thus ranks among the 18 companies that received the designation "Supplier for the 2026 Car of the Year in the Czech Republic" within the poll.

"Every year, one car model is chosen from all those introduced to the market in the previous year. The Škoda Elroq had to beat representatives of very prestigious brands. We appreciate having the opportunity to participate in the production of this successful model," comments Margita Rejchrtová on the success of the Škoda Elroq.

"The vision of the Promet Group is to create an environment and products thanks to which our customers can grow. I am glad that for many years, as a supplier, we have been able to contribute our part to the growth of one of the largest Czech brands and companies—Škoda Auto. And now, also to its very successful range of electric vehicles, including the Škoda Elroq model," adds Denisa Materová, CEO of the Promet Group, to which Tawesco and its subsidiaries belong.

In 2025, over 95,300 Škoda Elroq vehicles were sold across Europe, ranking it 2nd among the best-selling electric models. Its strong entry into the European market was underlined by the Car of the Year 2026 poll, in which it took 2nd place. It is the best-placed Škoda model in the entire 63-year history of this prestigious European competition.
