Media Obligations of the First “Woman of Industry”
The day after receiving the first-ever “Woman of Industry” award, Promet Group CEO Denisa Materová had two more appearances at the International Engineering Fair in Brno. This time, she spoke to reporters from Czech Radio’s Radiožurnál and the Brno Trade Fairs.
Each of the interviews took a slightly different direction. In Radiožurnál’s mobile broadcast studio right at the Brno Exhibition Center, chief economic analyst Jana Klímová invited Denisa Materová to join her. They discussed taking over the leadership of the Promet Group, the toughest management decisions of the past two years, the situation surrounding Tatra, and the group’s future plans.
The interview for Veletrhy Brno, on the other hand, focused more on women in industry, building respect, and team dynamics. In it, Denisa Materová emphasized that expertise should be the primary deciding factor.
She also noted that mixed teams of men and women, as well as members of different generations, have proven effective at Promet Group over the long term. The same goes for part-time positions for mothers, which help them stay connected to their profession and facilitate their subsequent return to work.
“In our field, I meet many successful women, but we rarely talk about their stories,” said Denisa Materová.
This time, however, the conversation took place—and right into several microphones. The full interview for Veletrhy Brno is available here.
