Frames from Nový Jičín are in operation at the Port of Rotterdam
At Tawesco Trailers, we have completed the first series of special container handling frames for the APM terminal in Rotterdam, one of Europe’s largest ports. We manufactured a total of 16 frames, each 14 meters long and weighing approximately eight tons. They will be used to transport containers between ships and port terminals.
Port logistics is one of the most demanding operations there is. The frames must therefore be able to withstand heavy loads, continuous operation, and harsh conditions, including a salty environment. We placed great emphasis not only on manufacturing precision, but also on the quality of the surface finish and the overall workmanship.
The delivery included complete assembly, painting, and final acceptance testing in the presence of an inspector from the destination port.
The project was carried out in collaboration with the Dutch company Houcon Group, with whom we have a long-standing partnership.
“The first series turned out very well, and the customer is satisfied with the quality. The terminal is continuing to expand, and we are currently discussing the possibility of manufacturing dozens more frames,” says Pavel Jurečka, the company’s executive director.
